Il s'agit de la première carte imprimée de l'hémisphère Nord du pôle arctique à 60 degrés de latitude nord, initialement publiée en 1595. Cet exemplaire est la deuxième version de l'édition française de 1613. La carte montre les découvertes de Frobisher (1576-78) et de Davis (1585-87).

Relief pictural., La carte est entourée d'une bordure décorative avec 4 encarts circulaires, l'un contenant le titre, les trois autres représentant les îles suivantes: Friflant infula. 6 cm de diamètre - Farre Infule. 6 cm de diamètre - Infula Scetland. 6 cm de diamètre., Au verso: texte en français "Le pole Arctiqve", pp. 47-48, Sig "L", catchword "peaux"., De Mercator's : L'Atlas ou Méditations Cosmographiques.
