General Note:

This accession consists of large-format reproductions of maps created by the Engineer Services Branch of DND, and transferred to the Directorate of History. The maps document the original Chapel Point site plan, with pre-existing structures, the initial construction of the coastal battery and associated structures at Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, (including 4.7" gun positions, searchlight positions and observation tower) and the 1944 modernization of this battery to include twin 4" gun mountings.
