This sub-series consists of clinical records which include one operating room register (1921-1936), six bound volumes of War Veterans Allowance (WVA)/Civilian War Pensions and Allowance (CWA) Referrals and Admission ledgers (1959-1977), one bound volume entitled "WVA Files Only 1963-1973," a Department of Veterans Affairs Diet Therapy Manual (1963), two Department of Veterans Affairs Nursing Services reports (1957 and 1973), and Dispensary bulletins (1957-1973).
Sub-series also contains administrative records which include five accreditation certificates, photocopies of Shaughnessy Hospital blueprints photocopied in 1993, the originals dated 1964-1981, and one Department of Veterans Affairs accounts receivable ledger of meal tickets (1974-1978).
Sub-series also contains staff records which include one Information Handbook for employees (1979), two residents manuals (1972-1973), a small amount of biographical material on Theodore Dey Bain (Senior Treatment Medical Officer), Edna Elizabeth Rossiter (Head Matron), David Walker Johnstone (Senior Treatment Medical Officer and Hospital Director), Sister Sarah Heaney, and four documents relating to George Uter, two of which relate to his retirement.
Sub-series also contains public relation records which include one guest register book (1945-1973) with the signatures of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, other members of the Royal Family, and other notable individuals.
Sub-series also includes the programs for the 1974 Transfer Ceremony, the 1968 Opening of the Laboratory Wing, and the 1960 Opening of the New Wing. In addition, it includes articles and brief histories of the hospital, a file on Wallace Wilson and his history of medicine book, clippings and memoranda regarding the hospital buildings, Shaughnessy Christmas cards from the 1950's and a Christmas book produced by patients (1968).
