Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Canadian Transportation Commission, predecessor of the Canadian Transportation Agency. These records document hearings held before various boards of the Commission for the year of 1980. Records include transcripts of proceedings and evidence exhibits. Exhibits can vary in type from reports, forms, brochures, and photographs. A large aerial photograph presented on poster board is also included.

Case numbers found on the finding aid have an attached prefix that identifies the Committee a particular case went to for consideration. 'A' refers to the Air Transport Committee, 'MV' refers to the Motor Vehicle Transport Committee, 'R' refers to the Rail Transport Committee, 'Rev.' refers to the Review Committee, and 'W' refers to the Water Transport Committee.
