Fonds consists of works created by Adrian Raeside. It includes editorial cartoons created for the Victoria Times-Colonist, 1980-1986; Captain Starship comic strip cartoons; cartoons for the series George and Jacques; Space Oddities cartoons; Ears comic strip cartoons; advertising illustrations; illustrations for children's books; as well as a few untitled and unidentified cartoons and sketches, and a mock up for a business card for the artist.
Fonds also includes animation cels for 24 short films produced by Heckle Films. Works are by various animators under the art direction of Adrian Raeside. The cels comprise the total output required for the production of 24 films. 14 of the films were produced exclusively for CBC's "The Journal" and focus on Brian Mulroney, John Turner, Ed Broadbent and Joe Clark. The films also feature such topics as the environment, election polls, races and promises, the Senate and the stock market. Another series entitled "Colonel Travel", hosted by a "Masterpiece Theatre - Alistair Cookie" character who visits Canada, New Zealand and England, were aired on the children's program "Sesame Street". The remaining films were shown through Turner Broadcasting around the world and focus, primarily, on the issue of the environment. Many of the cels are by animators well-known in the field including Danny Antonnuci. Included with the cels were time-sheets documenting the animation process and rough character sketches
