This map depicts the parishes of St. Charles and Headingley, in the western suburbs of present-day Winnipeg. It shows acreage of lots of features of vegetation. Although an explanation of colour appears on the map, it is not coloured. As is typical of Métis settlements, the land is divided into long and narrow river lots. The Anglican parish of Headingley was established in the 1850s, with the first church completed in 1854. The Roman Catholic and French-speaking parish of St. Charles was also founded in the 1850s.
