Physical description note:

The document has red ink underlining. There is one large red wax seal in the top left corner of page one. A green and purple ribbon is under the large wax seal. A rectangular shaped piece of parchment is also attached under the large wax seal and ribbons. It was probably used in binding leaves together. A small piece of pink archival ribbon is near the large wax seal and parchment. Holes in the top left corner of each sheet were probably for binding together the sheets. A blue ink stamp is visible on page one. It is dated October 22, 1875 and states "Department of the Interior Ottawa.". There are also four red wax seals, cracked with pieces missing, adjacent to the signatures.

Note on the state of conservation:

The document is laminated with tissue. Some edges are torn, worn and pieces are missing. There are two reddish-brown stains on page 18 near the signatures, possibly from wax seals which no longer exist.
