The sub-series consist of letters of all sorts, faxes, memos and very occasional print material. There is a broad intermix of correspondence here, with a large constituency, from Senators and Ministers to friends and private persons. It is personal and government-related, deals with Senate issues and Liberal Party matters, concerns invitations and functions, and addresses significant political issues and Senate committee activity. There are, interspersed throughout the sub-series, runs of chrono files (copies of outgoing correspondence), and occasional personal file (eg. Dr. Henry Morgentaler).
