Transferred directly from the House of Commons. The House of Commons is a non-LAC Act institution. Records are deposited with LAC under a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed by Jean-Pierre Wallot, the then National Archivist, and Andrée Champagne, the Deputy Speaker of the House, (8 June 1993).
On 3 April 2008, Wallet#1 (out of 8 Wallets, Box 38); Wallet#3 (out of 8 Wallets, Box 39); Wallet#4 (out of 8 Wallets, Box 40); Wallet#7 (out of 8 Wallets, Box 41 NOTA: Closed until 2034); Wallet#1 & 2 (out of 5 Wallets, Box 74); Wallet#4 (out of 5 Wallets, Box 75); Wallet#5 (out of 5 Wallets, Box 75 NOTA closed until 2033) of this accession from the 37th Parliament 2nd Session were returned to the House of Commons at the behest of André Gagnon, acting on behalf of the Clerk of the House, pursuant to Clauses 3 and 7 of the above-mentioned MOA. Pursuant to Clauses 3 and 7 of the 1993 MOA, Ian E. Wilson, Librarian and Archivist of Canada, requested the Archivist of Record for the House of Commons to deliver these wallets to 180 Wellington Street, where the wallets were signed off to Jacques Corbin, of the Committes Directorate.
