Scope and content:

Jim Smellie and Julius are dressed as "Micmac Chief" and "Micmac Medicine Man" for the Historical Fancy Dress Ball hosted by Lord and Lady Aberdeen on February 17th, 1896. They are dressed in Plains, not Micmac, attire. Mr. Lay claimed that his moccasins had been made of human scalps, and his headdress of polar bear claws.
