Sphagnum moss 2 3/4 feet to 3 1/2 feet deep in the New Westminster area in British Columbia is harvested during the coastal winter, September to May, then left to dry until August. Much of it goes to Los Vegas, Nev. where it is used as a flux in magnesium production in the largest magnesium plant in the world. It is also used in horticulture..."
