This print is in extremely poor condition. The right corner is torn off, and the bottom right edge is held on by tape., This print is the same as 1973-18-341 (II-14)., "Hunter on Snowshoes" (1989-510-7x and 1973-18-341) and "Indian Hunter Calling" (1973-18-340 and 1989-526X) were published in the same year by the same publisher., Information on title received from Rosemarie Tovell, National Gallery of Canada August 1997

General Note:

Snowshoeing is one of the earliest Canadian winter sports. It owes its development to the First Nations of North America who used the devices to travel over snow. In the 1840s, Europeans adopted snowshoeing as a sport and the first snowshoe club was founded.
