- Scope and content:
The records in this accession consist of selected offender case files. Upon entering a correctional facility, the offender is given a unique identification number and a file is created; this file follows the offender from institution to institution. The files contain a variety of documentation on the various aspects of his/her incarceration, including the administration of the sentence (admission and discharge), interaction within the institution (conduct and behaviour), medical and pyschological treatment, education and training. In some cases, there is documentation relating to the administration of parole or other forms of conditional release; for these files, there can be links to related records within National Parole Board (R932) or Department of Justice Remissions Branch (R188-52-0-E).
