Series consist of office files relating to Major General Leo Richer Lafleche's tenure as chairman of the National Film Board. Lafleche, who also served as Associate Deputy Minister of War Services (1940-1942) and then Minister of National War Services (1942-1945), chaired the NFB from 1941 to 1943. Included are Lafleche's copies of the minutes of meetings and estimates of the NFB. In addition, there are memos, promotional literature, and some correspondence. Topics addressed in these materials include the National Film Society of Canada, the efforts to distribute NFB productions, American reaction to NFB productions, and the 1943 fire that destroyed a portion the NFB's operations in Ottawa.
