The series consists of miscellaneous material found unfiled among Jennifer Dickson's records, including some family memorabilia, personal certificates and family announcements, calendars and appointment books, address books, passports, a transcript of an interview, programmes, documentation on business expenses prepared by Dickson for income tax purposes, and some personal and other correspondence relating to visitors and social engagements.
The family memorabilia comprises two albums kept by Dickson's English aunt and uncle, Marjorie and John Mansbridge, reflecting their respective interests in gardening and graphic design. The correspondence includes three original letters from the influential English printmaker Stanley William Hayter, as well as photocopies of other letters deposited with the Royal Academy of Arts. There is one letter from the English printmaker Geoffrey Sparrow, with whom Dickson worked at the Brighton School of Art. Other material documents Dickson's birth, education in South Africa, and marriage to Ronald Sweetman, as well as the birth of their child.
