Also included is a short documentary film entitled Oolaryoo, about a Christian Inuit girl.
Also included in fonds are photographs depicting Inuit life in and around Baffin Island, Arctic Bay, Eskimo Point, Whale Cove, Spence Bay, Tuktoyaktuk, and other locations in the Canadian Arctic. Photos by D.B. Marsh.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Marsh, D.B. (Donald Ben), 1903-1973 : Donald Benjamin Marsh was born in Enfield, Middlesex, England in 1903. Marsh served as an Anglican Bishop in the North West Territories between 1926 and 1950. In addition to his clerical work, Marsh was also an amateur photographer. His work was published in several periodicals including The Beaver, Sports Afield, and Popular Photography. Marsh died 5 February 1973 in London, England.Finding aid:Additional information:General Note:Material was acquired between 1976 and 1981 from Winnifred Marsh of Ontario. Winifred Florence (Petchey) Marsh, widow of Bishop Marsh, died on 23 July ,1995.Location of originals note:The 501 nitrate negatives in accession 1981-238 were, under Mrs. Marsh's instructions, given over to Mr. Keith Packwood of the National Film Board of Canada, Montreal, in order to assist in making some films on Bishop Marsh.
