Series consists of 6 sketchbooks, probably by William Parker Greenough, dating from 1873-1886. The sketchbooks were used as notebooks and for rough sketches. and appear to document steamboat voyages from Boston to Quebec as well as related activities around Lac Clair. Sketchbook 1 dates from ca. 1873 and includes ca. 26 drawings. Sketchbook 2 dates from ca. 1875 and includes 43 drawings. The third, ca.1877 includes ca. 25 drawings including Nova Scotia and Quebec. Sketchbook 4, ca. 1881-1882 includes ca. 46 drawings of views of Bedford Basin and Quebec. Sketchbook 5 dates from ca. 1886 and includes ca. 46 drawings of Quebec City and figure studies. Sketchbook 6, ca. 1888-1886 includes ca. 29 drawings, in pen and ink, showing log cabins, Quebec folk life, card players and toher scenes around Lac Clair.
The series also includes a watercolour of Margaret Greenough, by C.E Moss.
