Sub-series consists of records created and/or maintained by Canadian Northern railways in Quebec. Unlike the Canadian Northern lines in Ontario, most of the system's mileage in Quebec was constructed prior to its acquisition by Mackenzie and Mann.

The Canadian Northern Quebec Railway (RG30-III-F-8) was essentially the eastern portion of the Canadian Northern transcontinental line, running from Hawkesbury, Ontario (where it connected with The Canadian Northern Ontario Railway (RG30-III-E-3) to Quebec city, with a branch to Montreal. It was formed by an amalgamation of three established companies. Of these, the largest was the Great Northern Railway of Canada (RG30-III-F-1) whose original line ran 140 miles east from Hawkesbury. It had two subsidiaries, The Great Northern Construction Company (RG30-III-F-2) and The Great Northern Elevator Company (RG30-III-F-3). In addition it had purchased the line of The Lower Laurentian Railway Company (RG30-III-F-4), which gave it a connection with The Quebec and Lake St. John Railway (RG30-III-F-9) and that of The Montford and Gatineau Colonization Railway Company (RG30-III-F-5) which provided a northern spur. Another component of the Canadian Northern Quebec that had been leased to the Great Northern was The Chateauguay and Northern Railway Company (RG30-III-F-6) which provided a connection with Montreal. The third component was The Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia Railway Company (RG30-III-F-7) which provided the eastward extension to Quebec City. The other large Mackenzie and Mann Quebec railway was The Quebec and Lake St. John Railway Company (RG30-III-F-9) which ran from Quebec City to the Lake St. John region. Two short spur lines from this railway were constructed under the charters of The James Bay and Eastern Railway Company (RG30-III-F-10) and The St. Charles and Huron River Railway Company (RG30-III-F-11).

Architectural drawings consist of Canadian Northern Quebec Railway plans of proposed round house and other buildings at Quebec City.

Technical drawings consist of a plan of the track at Batiscam Bridge, and an undated sketch showing dredge dimensions operating at Lac Dubrission, drawing #1651-12 (RG30M 80103/69, item #14).
