This series contains manuscript plays, poems and prose by various Canadian authors and poets n.d., 1964-1989, and a sub-series on the Carl Sentner short story competition 1985. The files in the series are arranged alphabetically and include such writers as: Milton Acorn, Leslie Armour, Adrien Arsenault, Harold Barratt, Henry Bissell, J.J. Coyle, Rienzi Crusz, Mary DiMichele, Ras Dizzy, Dorothy Hutcheson Duchemin, Saad Elkhadem, Mona Fertig, Anne Foley, Cathy Ford, Dan Garver, Steve Hogg, Lee Hopkins, Bill Howell, Jim Hornby, Paul Inman, Arnold Harrichand Itwaru, Sandi Johnson, Penny Kemp, Ted Kulik, Elizabeth Harper Kymlicka, Frank J. Ledwell, Pat Lowther, [M.W.] MacKay, Tom Marshall and Robin Mathews (manuscripts by and about him), Peter Meincke, Robin Neill, Kathleen Price, Doug Smith, M.G. Vassanji, Suwanda H.J. Sugunasiri, Ron Sutherland, Phyllis Webb and Liliane Welch. Also includes poems written for Réshard Gool by Joseph Sherman and Richard Lemm.

A large file of poetry typescripts accumulated by John Smith for his project on 16 poets was divided into sixteen separate files and includes works by Ted Kulik, A.P. Campbell, Elaine Harrison, Dorothy Duchemin, Carl Sentner, Réshard Gool, Frank Ledwell and Anne Wooder. Published works by members of the Purple Wednesday Society of Tucker Park, Saint John, N.B. (Fred Cogswell, Liliane Welch, Charles Stewart Robertson, Carol-Ann Noble, Kurt Skov-Neilson, Kay Smith and William Prouty) 1987, as well as works by some of [Gool's students] form part of this series.
