Bay of Quinté Railway Company : The Bay of Quinté Railway Company was incorporated under Dominion Act, 59 Vic., Cap. 15 of 23 April 1896 by the amalgamation of the Kingston, Napanee and Western Railway Company and the Bay of Quinté Railway and Navigation Company. The shareholders of both companies were the same and the amalgamation became effective 1 January 1897. The new company was acquired by Mackenzie, Mann and Company, effective 1 June 1910 and the capital stock was transferred to the Canadian Northern Railway Company on 20 June 1914. The corporate existence of the Bay of Quinté Railway Company did not end until 8 June 1954 when it was absorbed by Canadian Northern Consolidated Railways, which amalgamated with the Canadian National Railway Company in 1956.
