These works were created during a three month sketching trip across Canada in 1969 that was the result of a Canada Council grant enabling the artist to document Indian communities. Joe Rosenthal used some of these drawings as illustrations for his book, "Indians, A Sketching Odyssey" published in 1971. Several photographs taken in Ahousat, B.C. and the Northwest Territories are part of this accession. Textual records and memorabilia and philatelic item are related to this trip.
