Files relating to grants, to fairs and exhibitions of Production Services Section of the Livestock and Poultry Division [textual record]

Accession consists of records associated with grants to fairs and exhibitions throughout Canada. Under a program administered by the Production Services Section, fairs and exhibitions were eligible to receive funding from the federal Department of Agriculture for such things as improvements and repairs to buildings, salaries for judges, prizes, and so on. A separate file exists for most of the significant fairs and exhibitions in Canada at that time, including the Central Nova Scotia Exhibition, Provincial Exhibition of Quebec, Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, and the Pacific National Exhibition. Generally, each file consists of routine correspondence, reports, and financial statements.
