Canada. Dept. of Indian Affairs. Kamloops Agency : There have been two Kamloops Agencies in British Columbia. The first was established by Order-in-Council on 3 April 1881 and lasted until 1884. During this period the agents were H. Cornwall (1881-1883) and J.W. Mackay (1883-1893). In 1884 the Kamloops and Okanagan Agencies were amalgamated to form the Kamloops-Okanagan Agency. The second Kamloops Agency was formed by Order-in-Council of 23 December 1910 with the division of the Kamloops-Okanagan Agency into the (2nd) Kamloops Agency, (2nd) Okanagan Agency, and the Lytton Agency. In 1969 the Kamloops Agency amalgamated with the Nicola Agency to form the Thompson River District office. Finding aid 10-202: Guide to Indian Bands and Agencies in British Columbia.
