This is a preliminary record, please consult the linked accessions. Series consists of sessional files created and maintained by the Privy Council Office. The records include printed copies, typescripts, and draft copies of Speeches from the Throne, Government notices of motion, Parliamentary opening procedures, lists of legislation to be tabled in the House of Commons and private members bills. There are also originals and copies of correspondence, cabinet memoranda and lists relating to proposed legislation, orders of the day, the status of various House of Commons committees and their membership, lists of undertakings by the Government, and numerous private members bills.

The records are arranged in rough chronological order by session of Parliament, and according to the subject of the files.

The entirety of the accession "Sessional files" pertains to this series; in the accession "Central registry files...", only box 3, with sessional files from 1949, pertains to this series.
