This accession contains records that pertain to the 'CN History Project' (history of Canadian National Railways for the period 1922-1979) and Donald MacKay's publication 'The Asian Dream - The Pacific Rim and Canada's National Railway'. Included are typed transcripts of employee interview tapes (together with the original sound recordings), project-related correspondence and subject research files., Other records (Box 9) include miscellaneous correspondence from the office of S.W. Fairweather, former Assistant Director, Bureau of Economics, a General Freight Traffic Manager special order book for the period 1928-1950 and a Superintendent of Car Shop Register of Cabooses constructed during the period ca. 1879-1941.
