Ce fonds documente le travail de conception graphique de Couthuran Inc. On y trouve plusieurs esquisses d'affiches ainsi que des affiches à caractère culturel produites pour des clients tels que le Théâtre du Trident de Québec et le Centre national des arts d'Ottawa. Couthuran a produit des dessins uniques et originaux d'affiches et de logos pour de nombreuses companies privées au Québec, ainsi que pour le Gouvernement du Québec et le Gouvernement du Canada. Couthuran a aussi travaillé de très près avec des politiciens, et a produit d'importantes oeuvres pour la campagne électorale de l'Union nationale de Marcel Masse, ainsi que pour celles de Joe Clark durant les élections fédérales de 1979 et de 1980.

Couthuran : Couthuran Inc. est une compagnie de conception graphique bien connue au Canada, mais particulièrement, à Québec même. Cette compagnie détient sa renommée par ses affiches culturelles et publicitaires. Cette compagnie a été créée en 1968 par Claude Gaudreau, Randi Gaudreau, et Jean-François Couture. Le principal responsable et l'unique propriétaire en est Claude Gaudreau. Le nom de Couthuran provient de la fusion des noms de membres fondateurs tels que "couthu" pour Jean-François Couture et "ran" pour Randi Gaudreau. La compagnie a été très active entre les années 1970 et 1980. Elle continue d'exister sur le plan légal mais ses activités ont beaucoup diminué. François Bergeron, Hélène C. Bergeron, et Giles Caron sont aussi identifiés avec Couthuran.
