Mackay, D. M : Maj. Donald Morrison Mackay (1889-1953) was appointed a temporary Inspector in the Department of Indian Affairs in November 1936. He was promoted permanently to the position of Indian Commissioner for British Columbia, with headquarters in Victoria, 1 December 1936 by authority of the Order in Council which established the Department of Mines and Resources (of which the Department of Indian Affairs became a part). He was appointed Superintendent of Welfare, in Ottawa, 15 November 1947, and was promoted to the position of Director, Indian Affairs Branch, 28 November 1948. RG10 General Inventory
