Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Office of the Secretary of the Board of Directors : On November 10, 1958 a new Broadcasting Act (7 Eliz. II cap. 22) was proclaimed. This act created the Board of Broadcast Governors which was to take over the regulatory functions previously exercised by the CBC Board of Governors. At the same time the act created a CBC Board of Directors responsible for operating the national broadcasting system. The Office of the Secretary of the Board of Directors generally provides secretarial, administrative and support services to the Board of Directors of the CBC and its committees. This includes the preparation of the agendas and the gathering of the necessary working papers for the meetings of the Board and its committees. The Corporate Affairs Department has the responsibility for the Secretariat. RG41 General Inventory
