Sub-series consists of correspondence of Joe Clark as a Member of Parliament, from his election in October 1972 until he became leader of the PC Party in February 1976. This sub-series is arranged in five blocks: Alphabetical Files, arranged alphabetically by the names of individual correspondents; Members of Parliament, also arranged alphabetically; Chronological Files, consisting mainly of copies of outgoing letters in chronological order; Nominal Files, consisting mainly of correspondence with federal government departments and agencies, non-government organizations and corporate bodies, in alphabetical order; and Alberta Government Officials, also arranged alphabetically. There is some overlap between these blocks, and a few items are dated later than February 1976.

Subjects include major political topics such as the economy and bilingualism, as well as PC Party policy and activities, and Joe Clark's career. Some personal correspondence, notably with his parents Charles and Grace Clark, is included.
