Fonds consists primarily of correspondence and other materials, 1957-1972, organized into four series: 1) Meadow Lake constituency; 2) Provincial issues (Saskatchewan); 3) Federal government departments and national organizations; 4) Personal.

Fonds also contains philatelic records and graphic materials, 1961-1971, predominant 1969-1971. The philatelic material, organized by type of envelope, consists of pre-cancelled envelopes to be mailed from postal outlets while the photographic material consists of portraits of Albert C. Cadieu and photographs of a 102 lbs trout, caught in Gunnar, Saskatchewan, photographed by J. Fraser Smith.

Also included are maps, ca. 1960, of the Beaverlodge Lodge mining development area in Saskatchewan, as well as transportation routes in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Northwest Territories.

Cadieu, Albert Charles, 1903-1990 : Albert (Bert) Cadieu, Member of Parliament, was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, on June 28 to John Jerome Cadieu and Annie Victoria Stephenson. He attended school at Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. On 26 November, 1932, he married Isabell Nesbitt. They later had three children, Kathleen, Leslie, and Grant. Cadieu became a rancher and contractor at Spiritwood, and president of A.C. Cadieu Construction Company.

In 1945, he was a candidate for the Progressive Conservative Party in the General Federal Election in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He was defeated but was later elected to the House of Commons for Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan in 1958, 1962, 1963, 1965 and 1968. In 1972, he was defeated, but was re-elected in 1974. He was a member of the House of Commons Working Committee on Indian Affairs. Other memberships included: A.F. and A.M. Shellbrooke Lodge No. 171; Canadian Hereford Association registered stock breeder; and Spiritwood Agricultural Committee. Cadieu died in the fall of 1990.
