Fonds consists of a patent application for a water motor created by de Lotbinière and Hallé as well as a sketch book of mechanical designs. Fonds also includes photos by Hallé of various cartridge making tools and jigs.

Lotbinière, Antoine de. Hallé, François, b. 1866 : Superintendents Antoine de Lotbinière Panet and François Hallé were both employees of the Quebec Cartridge Factory. It was set up as the result of a 1879 Order-in-Council to produce rifle cartridges for the Department of Militia and Defence. In 1901 its name was changed to the Dominion Arsenal. Panet was the Assistant Superintendent from the 1880s until after 1913. Hallé worked at the Arsenal from 1884 until 1922 and was in charge of the cartridge loading plant at Cove Fields on the Plains of Abraham.
