United Nations Association in Canada : The United Nations Association in Canada was incorporated by Federal Charter in 1946, replacing the League of Nations Society. The aim of the Association is to create a broader and better informed public opinion to support and strengthen the United Nations as an instrument of international co-operation for peace and a better life for mankind.
Members in all ten provinces are organized into branches with the central office in Ottawa. The Association publishes a quarterly bulletin and sporadic briefing papers for the media, students and the general public. A catalogue of United Nations and related publications is produced for libraries and other interested institutions and individuals.
The Association is funded by the Department of External Affairs, CIDA, corporate finance campaigns and membership fees. Foundations such as the Donner Foundation fund special projects or conferences.
