Description:

Gérald Boulet (1946-1990) marqua la musique rock francophone du Québec au cours des années 1970 et 1980 en compagnie de son groupe Offenbach, puis ensuite au cours d’une courte carrière solo. Après avoir participé dans les années 1960 à un groupe, les gants blancs, qui jouait des succès connus, Gerry, son frère Denis, leurs amis Michel Lamothe et Jean Gravel forment le groupe Offenbach avec le parolier Pierre Harel. Profitant du mouvement souverainiste et francophile du Québec, ils écrivent des chansons rock en français qui connaissent du succès. Homme d’excès, alcoolique et infidèle, Gerry Boulet entreprend en 1985 une carrière en solo durant laquelle il combat ouvertement un cancer du côlon, ce qui lui gagnera la sympathie du public. Le 18 juillet 1990, il meurt, perdant son combat contre le cancer. <131mn>
