Opening footage shows the St. Roch undergoing refitting and preparation in drydock in Esquimalt. Extensive views of heavy seas, icebergs and marine wildlife filmed from the St. Roch. Also seen is footage of shipboard life and several ports-of-call including San Francisco, San Diego and Acapulco. The voyage through the canal includes footage of Balboa, the ruins of Panama City and Gatun Lake.
