Every year, Algonquin elder, Grandfather William Morningstar Commanda invites many different peoples to his home in the Gatineau for a gathering that is known as the Circle of All Nations. Grandfather Commanda is known as a revolutionary of the heart and he teaches that we are all strands in the web of life, strands that are becoming dangerously unraveled. This year, the following people attended: Michael Hawley (Ireland), Guy Robinson (Brooklyn), Roberto Zuazo (Amazon Rainforest, Brazil), Gail Finne (New York, NY), Garnet Challenger, (Dominica, West Indies), Donald Parent (Mi'kmaq, Québec), Mercedes Barrios (Mayan, Guatemala), Michael Bastine (Algonquin, Buffalo, NY), Douglas Cardinal (Metis, Alberta), Arnold Eyah Salteaux (Lakota), Michael Swinwood (Almonte), Toe-Knee Jack (Labrador), the Honourable Rick Laliberte (Metis, Churchill River), Andre Jaquet (South Africa High Commission), Gaston Lavoie (Maniwaki), Woody KeElek Vaspra (Hawaii), Jeorgina Larocque (Mi'kmaq), Leo St. Onge (Innu, Sept Isles), Jacqueline DeContie (Algonquin, Texas), Tom Dostou (Abenaki, Vermount), Sara Smith (Iroquois, Six Nations), Pablo Lonesome Wolf (Abenaki, Vermount), Pat Three Rivers (Tennessee), Ken Pratt (Amherst), Donald Marshall Jr. (Mi'kmaq), Gray Hawk (Cherokee), Wayqyay (Ojibwe), Evelyn Dewache Commanda (Algonquin), Ryan Hreljac and Modesto Izquierdo (Awerko, Columbia). In spite of criticism for sharing the teachings of a First Nations people of Canada, elder Commanda believes that we are all connected as one; it is the energy of all that is between and in sky and earth that will be the thing that will change the world. <47mn 10s>
