Television public affairs program with hosts Hana Gartner and Harry Brown. Financial Advisor and former stockbroker, Brian Costello talks to Brown about an issue of general public concern - how to save money. Advocating the use of newspaper advertisements, Costello explains how major savings can be made by grocery-buying in bulk, when goods are on sale. With the Cuban Film Festival currently running in Toronto, Hana Gartner talks to Jorge Fraga, Production Head for the Cuban Film Institute and Thomas Alea, Cuban's most prominent movie director about the link between the film industry in Cuba and the Revolution in that country. They explain how the Cuban Film Institute produces a wide spectrum of films, from entertainment to propaganda movies and clips from two Cuban films from the Festival are shown: the first a documentary about the Bay of Pigs incident, the other a comedy with a politival message which is sub-titled "How to Make a Revolution Without Really Tiring Yourself Out". Art critic for the "Toronto Star", Dault, talks to Brown about the 19th century photographer and social critic John Thomson whose photographs are currently on display in Toronto. Examples of the thirty-six photographs depicting the lowest strata of London society, published in a book by John Thomson in 1877, are shown. Dault comments on the stark and pitiful social conditions they portray. <30mn>
