Description:

Toronto art dealer Avrom (Av) Isaacs gives his recollections of Canadian painter William Kurelek, starting with his first meeting with Kurelek in 1958 or 1959. Isaacs talks about Kurelek's paintings and Kurelek's first exhibition of paintings. He also discusses Kurelek's commercial success as an artist, his trompe d'oeil paintings, his mastery of painting techniques, his difficulty in depicting human figures, his work at the Isaacs' Gallery framing shop, Kurelek's personality, Kurelek's involvement with book publishing and the reproduction of his art works.
