Locket / case 5.200 x 4.300 cmScope and content:John Porteous is the son of John Porteous I who emigrated from Scotland to New Brunswick and then went to Montreal in 1765. Information supplied by donors indicates that the sitter married Amélie daughter of Lt. Col. B. Gugy and Jeanne...de la Tour in Montreal 1818, but she would have been much older than John. Perhaps she is a grand-daughter or other information is not correct. Encasement copper-toned metal locket; circular; recto ruby glass border; verso glazed opening with braided human hair encased.
