The series consists of the personal correspondence of Lela and York Wilson. Arranged alphabetically by correspondent, who include the following, among others: Eric Aldwinckle, Eric Arthur, Fulvio Ara, Claude Aveline, the Barrett family (including the grandchildren of York and Lela Wilson), Sonja Bata, Léon Bellefleur, Ernesto Barbini, Esther Birney, Leonard and Reva Brooks, Jean Bruchesi, Spencer Clark, Alan Collier, Andrew Davis, Robertson Davies, O.J. Firestone, Helmut Gransow, Peter and Bobs Haworth, Ted Heinrich, Elizabeth Holbrook, Cleeve Horne, Yvonne Housser, C.L. Hutchings, Kosso Eloul and Rita Létendre, Gabrielle and Jules Léger, Corinne and Marshall McLuhan, Herbert Palmer, Alex Panton, Kay Pepper, Luc Peire, Robert Pilot, Bab Quakenboss, Scott Symons, Fred Taylor, Harold Town, Violet and Herman Voaden, and Ayala and Sam Zacks. The correspondence is rich in content and not only documents the life and career of York Wilson but also that of his correspondents. The alphabetical arrangement of the files preserves the original order established by Lela Wilson.
Records received in 2006 include a rich collection of letters, written predominantly by Lela Wilson to her daughter Virginia, which document the Wilsons' travels to the far east, the middle east, and France from 1965-1966. Also included is a large amount of correspondence from the Wilson's daughter Virginia Kierans as well as her extended family.
Numerous letters of condolence on the death of York Wilson in 1984 are filed at the end of the series and retain their separate arrangement by Lela Wilson. Correspondents are many and include Leonard Brooks, Leon Bellefleur, O.J. Firestone, Pauline McGibbon, Isabel McLaughlin, Henri Masson, Peter C. Newman, Kenneth Thomson, Chris Varley, and Bill Withrow.
Also included is a small collection of correspondence photocopied from the Wilsons' collection of artists' cards as well as some family correspondence, general Christmas and birthday cards, documentation on the Wilsons' 50th wedding anniversary and cards and speeches on Lela Wilson's 90th birthday celebration, all filed at the end of the series. These additional textual records are in volumes 420 to 424 under the Archival Reference number R4154.
Artwork comprises original and reproduction greeting and Christmas cards by friends of the Wilsons. Artists include Fulvio Ara, Léon Bellefleur, Edmund Carpentier, Albert Cloutier, Charles Comfort, Marcelle Ferron, Luc Peire, and Derek Middleton.
