Photographic material selected from the archive of Roloff Beny for the posthumous publication of "The Romance of Architecture" 1984. This material was selected from Beny's unrealised architecture project and includes images of Roman ruins, Buddhist and Hindu temples, Renaissance scuplture. It is divided into the following themes; Walls, Columns, Colonnades; Arches; Aqueducts and Bridges; Domes; Ceilings and Roofs; Staircases; Floors and Pavements; Towers, Spires and Castles. These images represent architectural sites in many countries including; Burma, Japan, India, Cambodia, Tunisia, Syria, Lebannon, Italy, Turkey, Jordan, Scotland, England, Wales, Iraq, Iran, Greece, Spain, Egypt, Guatemala, Mexico, Israel, France.
