New Brunswick District Office : Following the creation of the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development in 1966, agencies were joined to form larger administrative units called districts. The Miramichi and St. John River Agencies merged to form the New Brunswick District Office effective July 1, 1971. This District Office governed the administration of fifteen different bands under the two agencies of the Miramichi and St. John River.
