Fonds consists of a microfilmed manuscript of a biography of G.W. Pocaterra written by his wife Norma Piper Pocaterra, 1970; scrapbook including clippings, photographs and letters regarding his activities among the native Indians, 1937-1967; photograph albums consisting of three albums which illustrate his exploration of the Kananaskis Valley in Alberta, 1904-1933. This material is located on microfilm reel M-4294.

Pocaterra, George William, 1882-1972 : George W. Pocaterra was born in Ferrara, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1903. He explored the Kananaskis Valley in Alberta and had extensive contact with the Indians. He is best remembered as a rancher and founder of Buffalo Head Ranch.
