Canada. Canadian Army. Canadian Railway Troops. Battalion, 5th : The 5th Battalion, Canadian Railway Troops was organized at the CRT Depot, Purfleet under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel A.E. Griffin and arrived in France in February 1917. Its strength was 29 officers and 918 other ranks. Its authorization was published in General Order 63 of 15 June 1917. The battalion demobilized at Vancouver and was disbanded by General Order 196 of 1 November 1920.
