Fonds consists of personal correspondence of Thomas G. Ridout and second wife Matilda, including mention of, and comment on, significant personalities and events, 1810-1859; notably General Isaac Brock, John Strachan, Robert Sullivan, and the Rebellion of 1837-1838. Also included are comments on the effects of increased Anglo-American tension on Upper Canadian finances and an extract of a letter from Lieutenant-Colonel Harvey concerning the Battle of Crysler's Farm, dated 12 November 1813. The material was copied in 1970.
