Canadian Fraternal Association : At the annual meeting in 1918 of the Canadian Fraternal Association, it was proposed that a series of special meetings be conducted by representatives of the various fraternal insurance societies with the object of promoting "a better understanding between the French speaking and English speaking Canadians". This was the second organized movement having such an objective, the first being the Bonne Entente movement. Meetings were held in Belleville and Ottawa in 1918 and in Ottawa in 1920.
