Gagnon, Philéas, 1854-1915 : Philéas Gagnon, né à Québec, amassa une très importante collection de Canadiana. Il en publia un catalogue en 1895 sous le titre Essai de bibliographie canadienne. Un volume supplémentaire fut plus tard publié par la ville de Montréal, qui possède maintenant la collection Gagnon. En 1898, Philéas Gagnon était nommé archiviste aux Archives judiciaires de Québec.
