Collection consists of one issue of the magazine The British Prisoner of War (December 1918) and four cards from Prisoners of War in Germany thanking the Sewell family of Toronto for parcels of bread that were sent to them.

Women's Canadian Historical Society of Toronto : The Women's Canadian Historical Society of Toronto held its first official meeting on 19 November 1895. Support for the organization, however, was gathered by its founders Mrs. Sara Ann Curzon and Miss Mary Agnes FitzGibbon in the preceding year. The organization was sponsored by D.B. Read, Q.C. and Reverend Dr. Henry Scadding and thirty women of families of long residence of the city were invited to attend. The Society was formed out of Mrs. Curzon's belief that knowledge could be spread through organization and that a distinctly women's historical society could do valuable patriotic work in Toronto. The Constitution of 6 December 1895 states that the aims of the society were to encourage a study of Canadian history and literature, to collect and preserve Canadian historical records and relics and to build up Canadian loyalty and patriotism. They adopted the motto "Deeds Speak."

During the War of 1914-1918, the Society's third decade, The Women's Canadian Historical Society of Toronto was particularly active in raising money to support the Canadian effort and, in particular, offered funds to buy hospital supplies and soldiers' comforts. They also raised money to fund the Red Cross. After the War, they Society worked for the benefit of returned soldiers and devoted themselves to facilitating their return to Canadian society.
