Fonds consists of clippings, articles and biographical notes, relating to Dr. Macallum's career, illustrated by drawings and photographs, and bound in a scrapbook, ca. 1858 - ca. 1934, 1969, 2.5 cm. The photographs are portraits of Dr. Archibald Byron Macallum taken by Lafayette and an unknown photographer.

Macallum, A. B. (Archibald Byron), 1859-1934 : Dr. Archibald Byron Macallum, physiologist, professor, and researcher, was born and educated in Ontario and became a noted authority in the fields of biochemistry and physiology. He was an important figure in the establishment of the modern McGill and Toronto medical schools, and first Chairman of the National Research Council. He authored numerous research papers, chiefly on physiology and biochemistry, which appeared in English and American scientific journals.
