Newnham, Jervois Arthur, 1852-1941 : Jervois Arthur Newnham (1852-1941), ninth child of the Reverend George William Newnham (1806-1893) and Catherine Penneck Read, was born in England and educated at McGill. He was ordained in 1800, and held charges in Montreal until 1890 when he went to Moose Factory as a missionary. He was elected second bishop of Moosonee in 1893, leaving in 1904 to become bishop of Saskatchewan. Retiring from this position in 1921, he served as rector in Clifton, England and later retired in Hamilton, Ontario. Encyclopedia Canadiana, Vol. 7, p. 324/5.

Photocopies were presented in 1987 by Audrey Garneys Bloedow (née Newnham) of Woodlawn, Ontario, a grand-niece of Bishop Newnham and the compiler of these genealogical notes.
