Series consists of orders received by John Bertram & Sons for custom-made machine tools, industrial equipment and special fabrications, 1960-1965. Arranged by serial order number. Order sheet may have attached documentation such as list of parts ordered or memos by Bertram staff. There are also a number of files relating to Bertram's own machine tools, 1915-1952. Also random project files for Bertram orders ranging from small custom fabrications to large complex machine tools and equipment, 1959-1966. Contains order forms, correspondence with clients, forms for material ordered, specifications, drawings, sketches, test results, trade literature etc. Major projects include two 25 foot lathes for the U.S. Army, an antenna horn for a NRC radio telescope as well as equipment for many of Canada's major manufacturers.
